Sally Tanner / Physiotherapist

Sally is a Physiotherapist with extensive postgraduate training in Paediatric Physiotherapy. She is passionate about helping children to achieve their movement goals to be confident and pain-free in all of their activities.

Sally can help your child with:

  • assessment of babies to assist in motor development

    • management of orthopaedic concerns such as torticollis, hip dysplasia, club foot, head shape concerns

  • coordination and gait concerns such as toe walking, intoeing

  • dance physiotherapy and pre-pointe assessments

  • fracture management (casting and splinting)

  • school readiness

  • growing pains

  • sports injuries in children and adolescents

  • disability management

Sally can provide assessment, treatment and advice for babies and young children with congenital disorders, developmental delay or neurological conditions which effect development and quality of movement and function.She provides individually tailored care to all her patients, and utilises evidence based practice to provide hydrotherapy,  manual therapy, play based therapy and casting/ splinting in a clinic setting.

She loves helping children to develop new skills, become confident in moving their bodies, and being proud of their achievements when they know they’ve learnt something new. She has done extensive work with children aged 2-15 yrs as a dance teacher, and also has a love of sports including Netball, Soccer and Athletics.

Sally brings to our team a wealth of knowledge and experience with Dance. She has been dancing for 22 years, including dancing en pointe for 15 years. She has achieved Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams from pre primary to Advanced 1 Vocational exam, and she is also trained in the advanced 2 Syllabus. She has commenced Physio Dance classes on a Monday at our Bowral Clinic and is available for dance assessments and programming.

Before completing her Physiotherapy degree, Sally studied Bachelor of Science -majoring in Microbiology and Immunology with study in genetics, haematology and physiology, providing her with an in-depth understanding of genetic, congenital and immunological conditions, to complement her work in the Paediatrics Physiotherapy scope.
