Carly Nagel is an experienced physiotherapist specialising in women’s health and pelvic floor physiotherapy. She takes a holistic, practical and goal-oriented approach to care, helping women feel more confident in their bodies and get back to the things that matter to them.
Carly completed her education in the United States, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in 2008, followed by a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Colorado in 2011.
From 2012 to 2026, Carly worked as a Women’s Health and Polytrauma Physiotherapist at Naval Medical Center San Diego, where she supported military personnel and veterans with complex musculoskeletal and traumatic injuries. She developed extensive experience in manual therapy, exercise prescription, and amputation and prosthesis management. Carly also worked as a prosthetics lab instructor at the University of St. Augustine, San Marcos, helping educate future physiotherapists.
Carly began specialising in women’s health physiotherapy in 2019 and has completed specialised pelvic health training through Herman & Wallace, including Pelvic Function Level 1 and Course 2A. She enjoys working with women in different stages of life and providing individualised care that is both evidence-informed and relevant to each person’s goals.
In 2026, Carly relocated from the United States to Australia and joined The Physio Space’s Bowral clinic in September. She works full-time within the Embrace Women’s and Pelvic Health team.
As a mum of two, Carly understands firsthand the many physical and lifestyle changes women can experience throughout different stages of life. She is passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment where women feel heard, understood and empowered in their care.
