Pre-pointe and Dance Assessments

Going onto Pointe is an exciting step for young dancers, but it also comes with risk of injuries. Because of this, it has become standard practice for dancers around the world to have a full assessment of their readiness with a Physiotherapist qualified to perform Pre-pointe Assessements. From this assessment the Physiotherapist can determine what areas require improvement prior to progressing, and can work with your child and their dance teachers to ensure a smooth transition to Pointe work.

Samantha is now offering Pre-pointe Assessments for dancers looking to progress to pointe, a service which has not previously been available in the Southern Highlands. Sam is really looking forward to working with the wonderful dance schools we have locally to improve our dancers performance and keep them on the stage injury-free.

Sam is a qualified Physiotherapist, Pilates Instructor and Member of the International Association for Dance and Science. She attends training with Dance Physiotherapist Lisa Howell, The Australian Ballet and the NYU Harkness Centre for Dance Injuries.
